On December 2nd, 2024, we hosted a valuable workshop for East African newcomers, organized by the East African Parent Association (EAPA) and space provided by NRORC. The session, offered in Amharic and English, helped participants understand the driving process in Canada.

  1. Driving Test Process (G1, G2, G) – A step-by-step guide through the stages of obtaining a Canadian driver’s license.
  2. Preparing for the G1 Test – Tips on studying and what to expect for the written test.
  3. Financial Aid for Licensing – Information on available support to help with the costs of licensing and driving tests.
  4. Buying a Car in Canada – Resources and tips on purchasing a car, including how to inspect used vehicles.
  5. Car Insurance Basics – Understanding the different types of car insurance and how to find the right coverage.

Snacks, tea, and coffee were provided, creating a welcoming atmosphere for participants to connect and learn.
